LIONS COLLECT USED HEARING AIDS
We can use hearing aids that are no longer of use to
you. Hearing aids are recycled so hearing impaired people will have
their hearing improved. Give some fortunate person in a developing
country the gift of improved hearing by donating your used hearing aids
to the Lions. To donate, please contact: Lion Verta Duggan
(275-5225); Lion Donna Crossley(689-2075); Lion Marlene
Duffney(275-5324); or any other member of the Lions Club.
USED EYEGLASSES: Our club collects used
eyeglasses that are sent to the CNIB for distribution to developing
countries. Collection boxes are at the New Ross Credit Union in New Ross
and the Chester Pharmasave and Baptist Church in Chester. If you want
to donate used eyeglasses, put them in a collection box or contact one
of the Lions. NEW ROSS AREA: Lions Donna Crossley

Verta Duggan 275-5255. More than one-fourth of the population in
developing countries need corrective lenses. Therefore, by taking the
time to donate your used eyeglasses, you will help improve the quality
of someone's life in a developing country.
NORTHWOOD IN TOUCH: Our club is a satellite
for Northwood In Touch, a
personal response system to be used in emergencies.
We install and maintain
two different units, one that is used in
conjunction with a regular
telephone, and one that replaces the regular
telephone. The new 9500 unit
has personal reminders that can be programmed into
the unit, such as
reminding the client when to take medication, or
when the home care worker
is coming, etc. As well as being a valuable
service activity, this program
is a fund-raiser as we get an installation fee , as
well as a monthly
maintenance fee per unit. For information

VIAL OF LIFE PROGRAM: This program
involves providing vials in which medication information is stored. These
vials are stored in the upper right part of the fridge and a decal on the
door to the house tells emergency staff that there is a vial in the fridge
containing pertinent medical information , a list of medications, family
doctor, etc. All funding for this program was raised by way of
corporate sponsorship. Vials are
available for distribution. For more information about this program
contact Lion SANDRA ZWICKER (275-3629).

Available in the New Ross, Chester and Chester Basin areas. In New Ross call
