CAPTAIN KIDD ROD AND GUN CLUB
2915 Highway 3 East Chester, NS
(902) 275-2370
The Captain Kidd Rod and Gun Club was formed in 1937 as the "Owl's Head Rod and Gun Club," on land donated by Lewis Miller. In 1954 the name was changed to, "Captain Kidd Rod and Gun Club." The club is situated on the edge of the bay. It's new name came from the legend of Captain William Kidd and his treasure supposedly hidden on nearby Oak Island. Treasurer hunters are still seeking this treasure.

Membership Renewal Notice
CAPTAIN
KIDD ROD & GUN
Yes,
another year has passed and it is time once again to renew your membership to the Club. Dues this year will remain at $45 with new membership at $50. By
years’ end in 2009, membership stood at 77 senior members and 13 junior
members.
Our
annual meeting will be held January 13th , 2010.
At that time, election of officers will take place.
It is important that all members try to attend.
This past
year has seen more improvement to the
club with the installation of a new backstop
and increased wall thickness to the range. The lighting in the range has also been improved and will be of great assistance to those that have waning
eyesight. Thanks to all those who
worked so hard to see this work carried out. Once the Provincial Firearms
Officer has carried out his inspection we should be able to start shooting
big bore handguns in the range.
Regular
monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday evening of the month.
Archery
is each Wednesday evening beginning around 7 p.m.
Card
Night continues to be held on Thursday
evenings, the contact person is Dawson Baker
275-4037.
Our
monthly skeet shoot will be held on the last
Sunday of the month beginning around 10 a.m. The
contact person is Dwayne Baker 275-2555.
The .22
range has been quiet for the past while. Hopefully this year there will be
renewed interest in having a regular .22 shoot.
Thanks to
all the members who participated in the fund raising and work B’s carried out
at the Club this past year. For our Club to continue to progress participation
from the membership is crucial.
Hope
to see you at the Club
